Look ma! I got in second... quite a few weeks gone though, but still.

Anchorman for Scriptographer finalized

See the mighty Anchorman in action and judge yourself.
Jonathan Puckey helped me a lot to finalize the script and actually made it a lot more user friendly. Now the script works as intended, no errors and a lot of fun visualizing anchors, handlerpoints as well as handlers.

Posters will be added soon.

Superpolator… by the way

This is a hard one. I'm working on my type project this semester. I threw things away a lot of approaches even more sketches and even started once all over again. Right now I'm working on kind of an exploration on Lucas de Groot's interpolation theory. It's actually quite fun from time to time!

Today I read an article on Fontblog and this one made me think again. I'm not close to restart everything I worked on but it leaves me here with a feeling of slightly futile work.

The idea of Superpolator is quite interesting. Take 4 fonts (well not fonts but rather vektors of glyphs) to define a designspace. Within this space Leterror's software gives you the chance to define points within this space to generate new forms (video).
Nice toy? I think it could be a huge timesaver and I lost motivation to continue today. Thank's Letterror ;)

I have some sketches of another approach here. Maybe I should start all over… again!

Jan Middendorp - Dutch type

Last Friday the guys from Minka welcomed Jan Middendorp (in case you guys read this, please choose something else than Underware. Don't get me wrong, they do great type but there is a chance of overuse). You probably already heard an interview with him on Typeradio. The very interesting part of his lecture was about Dutch Type showing samples from dutch typographers. I should have noted some names. I actualy just know the work of Wim Crouwel who did some really groundbraking work (Have a look, it's worth a while! You'll probably think of some 90s stuff by paging some pictures) and who's type is actually not available as usable fonts. Well, the Gridnkik is available at The Foundry but besides that...
I hope I can spare some money soon, cause I absolutely need this book!

History of Type

A movie spanning the history of type! Perfect material for a lazy student like me, and perfect for my project right now. Since it's a bit vague, I'll drop some info/ progression bout it later.
